WHAT IS HOSPICE?

Hospice is a special way of caring for people with life-limiting conditions.

The goal of hospice is to treat the person and not the disease. Hospice, though not curative, alleviates symptoms by providing palliative and comfort care wherever the patient calls home.

WHO PAYS FOR HOSPICE?

Hospice costs are covered by Medicare, MediCal/Medicaid, and most private insurance plans.

Patients also retain their full Medicare and MediCal/Medicaid coverage for any healthcare needs or services not related to their hospice diagnosis.
